Default Trunk lid hydrolic failed has this happened to anyone else?

2008 c6 rear lid will not stay up seems hydrolics have failed. Is it possible that both sides have failed at the same time or could there be another problem. Any ideas??

IIRC, both struts need to be operating in order for the trunk (or hood) to stay open. If one fails, the opening slams shut.

One failed on our 2009 coupe trunk also, I had to hold it open with my head until the dealer replaced it under warranty.

They're GAS struts, not hydraulic (liquids don't compress), so you know . Very easy to replace. Do both at the same time. Good luck.
