Any of you that track your cars, what are you doing about the tie rods getting toasted by the brake rotors?
I've only done 4 HPDE days with this car and the boots are wasted. (this isn't my regular track car, I just like to take it every once in a while for variety)
I got some high temp replacement boots from 'Energy Suspension', but the OEM boots don't look like they'll come off very easily.
I was wanting to replace the boots before dirt/moisture got into the tie rod ends.
The problem is at all four wheels.
Use aluminum self adhesive reflective tape. It's kinda like the stuff used in A/C ducting and can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot for about $10. Wrap 2 layers around tie rod boots and lower ball joints.

If you have extra cash, you can buy precut versions for about 19 times as much!
I have been using 1 inch wide exhaust header wrap tied around the boots for years. Just wrap it around, tie it and then use some tape to tape the ends to the tie rod. Gets a little messy on the rear if you have the Z51/Z06/ZR1/GS greasable tie rod ends.
