Default LS2 Water Pump Questions

I need a new water pump for a LS2. Where can I Buy a new one for the best price?

Is the LS2 C6 water pump unique to Corvette or is the same water pump used on other vehicles without the Corvette price tag?

Does anyone have a new one for sale?

I see that removing it and reinstalling it is not that big of a job, but how do you purge the air out of the system when refilling it with coolant, and how much coolant do I need to buy?

Thanks in advance.

Sir,

If you do not feel up to doing this your self, I would like to recommend Victor at http://www.corvetteworldhouston.com/ He is a GREAT Tech and has done a lot of work on my car as well as my gf's car. He has even come to my place a few times to work on my car. At the very least give him a call and I am sure he will lead you in the right direction for your repairs.

Good Luck!

Thanks a bunch for the heads up, I will give Victor a call.

Anyone know where I can buy a new water pump at the best price? Any tips or tricks on the install is also most appreciated.

Does it purge the air by itself just running at idle as I keep filling it with coolant untill it is full?

50% coolant and 50% water?

Orange Dexcool coolant?

you can try parts taxi & corvette central. other that that most auto part stores can help. they are not cheap though. as far as filling & burping the system I used a 2 liter coke bottle. cut the bottom off & slid the neck into the reservoir. fill the reservoir and then the bottle @ 1/2 way & start the engine. when the t-stat opens the coolant level will drop and you are done. it takes about 15 minutes.

A good alternative is the Edelbrock which is a higher flowing water pump that is a stock replacement.

We also do carry the stock OEM units.

Good luck.

Please see the product description on the link I gave you. The 09-10 Z06 is specific and will not work but the link I gave you will as it is for the 07-08 Z06 and LS2. Thanks.

OP: I drain and fill all fluids every 30K miles or every March in my car. One product that I like to use is - http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=74&pcid=10 I mix in two bottles of it every time. Good luck with your repairs.
