Convertible trunk alignment off, how do I adjust it.
Does anyone know how to adjust the alignment of the trunk on a vert. It is slightly higher at the rear quarter panel where it meets the rear bumper only on the passenger side. I have tried adjusting the black **** on the underside of the panel but that has no effect. Is there a way to adjust either trunk hinge so the rear passenger corner will move lower? Thanks in advance for any help.

What you need to do is lower the entire rear edge of the panel, then raise the side that is not currently too high by unscrewing that bumper.. Those rubber bumpers on the corners can only raise the corner, not lower it if they are screwed in all the way. The entire rear edge can be lowered by either removing shims from under the striker on the panel or loosening and moving down the entire latch assembly that the striker goes into when closing the trunk. I would try the striker first.
It's been bothering me since I purchased the car last year but I never thought to ask the question on the forum. When you suggested the solution I rushed home to do it. Incurable Corvette OCD.
Bringing this thread back because it’s what Google shows and it inspired me to try to resolve this.
My drivers side trunk gap was really bumming me out and I found this thread. I managed to bring the front (closest to driver door) gap down by loosening the bolts on the hinge for the trunk lid and matching the placement of the passenger side depth wise. Great! But now the back corner issue is extremely derpy, I think this is why the front corner had been adjusted up so at least it was level.
Derp…
But this thread leads me to believe that I can cure this as well.
But I don’t think I understand how to proceed. Can someone dumb this down for me? I don’t think it has any shims at the top, and how do I go about moving the latch down?
FWIW I did screw both of the the little back pegs in further but obviously that doesn’t help yet, I need it to latch further down so the pegs can do their thing, I think…
Old thread but mine is just like the pic. The edge close to the bumper is up about the width of a key. Screw in bumpers aren’t touching and I’ve got the latch adjusted to pull the whole panel down as far as possible. I’ve taken off the struts to make sure it isn’t pushing up the panel, and I removed the trunk seal to make sure it wasn’t creating upward force.
tried to adjust the hinge on that side to tilt down the corner but ran out of movement. Has anyone enlarged the holes of the hinge to allow more movement? I’ve only adjusted that hinge on that side, since the passenger side ok, I haven’t touched that hinge.
many suggestions or help is appreciated.
Just to update this worked for me tonight. I took off the weather strip and rotated it so the seem was next to the latch, it lowered one side and slightly raised the one that was perfect. But both are very close now.
