Default No muffler...effects?

Just finished the install of my homemade exhaust (original c6 exhaust + angel grinder - muffler + some welding = done)

Without a proper tune.... what will this significant decrease in backpreassue result in performance wise? It almost feels like that the throttle response is slightly...hmmm...delayed. But it could just be me not being use to all the new noises and drone

I do like the boat like sound though

I doubt there was much change in backpresure if you used the original exhaust tips. The stock tips are the biggest resriction in the exhaust. The single exit from the muffler is less than 2.0 inches.

There are actually a couple very important effects derived from cutting out the mufflers...
1. Your neighbors are going to hate you. Especially if you go to work early in the morning.
2. Your right foot is going to get heavier when going through tunnels and under overpasses.

BTW, I think it sounds awesome. I cut the cans out of my LS2 GTO and it sounds about the same.

You might be right. I thought that the cans themselves would restrict the exhaust flow because of that the exhausts wouldn´t have as much of a straight and easy path as without the mufflers....

I agree... really enhances the experience Does attract the law a bit extra aswell

Do you notice any difference since you removed the cans? Better throttle response? Worse? Anything?

Nothing noticeable really. I did it for the sound honestly. The factory exhaust on the GTO's is about as emasculating as the C6's. I put a set of B&B Bullets on my C6 (let's not kid ourselves, it's practically the same thing) and I didn't notice a change with them either. It just sets off car alarms when I drive through parking garages now, which is enough to put a smile on my face.

Remember, exhaust noise is about quantity over quality.
