Default oil change

Hi there I'm brand new to your forum and have one question. Everybody is telling me to use only Mobil one synthetic oil but I was wondering why can't I use any full synthetic? Is there something about mobil one that makes it different. BTW it's for a 2005

Just make sure it meets the requirements in the owner's manual. That is the main thing.

Default use what ever you want

most of us use M1 and Ac Delco filters. It is your car, do what you want. New cars recommend Dexos rated oil, Mobil stopped paying for the sticker on the oil cap

since my H&C engine uses oil between changes, i keep a couple of quarts in the garage and top off when needed. In an emergency, which i have 't had, i would rather top off with anything available and change it later, instead of running it low.

I used that exclusively in my '06. As good as anything else out there and often less expensive. Once my 30 months of free oil changes are up, I'll be using it in the '13 as well.

Rather just take anybody's word, anyone can get more understanding on oil from "bobis theoilguy" on the web - after, make your own decision.
