Default Trouble getting into second gear

I have a 2012 base coupe with mn6 transmission and I've had an issue essentially since I got the car (7800 miles now). Second gear is always incredibly notchy or crunchy (I don't exactly know how to describe it, but it simply is far from smooth). I know some notchiness is to be expected out of the tr6060, but honestly mine simply doesn't feel right sometimes. I also experience some resistance putting the car into first at red lights occasionally.

It behaves the same way no matter the temperature of the car and I don't hear any grinding, it's just not pleasant shifting into 2nd (up from first nor down from third).

I have tried realigning my shifter (going to do it again today just in case I did something wrong) and I perform the ranger clutch fluid swap at least once a month. It isn't CAGS engaging since I have it disabled via the blown smart fuse method.

Any ideas before I take it to the dealer to get checked out (other than dropping $300 on a shifter just to see if it corrects the issue).

I'd even be interested in having someone local to me that has a c6 with a tr6060 to drive my car to see if my car seems out of norm.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

My '12 GS 'crunches' when cold, but found a way around that by pausing the shift until the rpm drop enough (no double-clutching). It works, and prefers that to skipping 2nd, but it's still annoying. Once fully warmed up, then it shifts perfectly. But yes, it still has that 'not so pleasant' feeling you talk about sometimes in 2nd, and always in 5th. Tranny is quite a bit notchier when cold almost in all gears. I relaxed the detent spring with one washer, and that helped. Also swapped fluid for fully-synthetic Amsoil TorqueDrive, and all of that seemed to improve things a bit, but not anywyere of what I was expecting. Bottom line is this tranny is not as sophisticated as a Getrag (and even less than a Graziano), for instance. So we have to learn how to live with it. I refuse to take it to a dealer when I don't have a real problem, since most likely things would get worse. Remember GM uses a remanufactured tranny if they have to change it. And most likely it'd have the same problem, since the design hasn't changed. Finally, the GS uses a weird 2nd synchro that has angled teeth, so that can explain my issues. But maybe it was changed in ALL models by 2012. I know for a fact base 2011 trannies had the same gears. And 2013s all have the angled-teeth 2nd gear synchro. Give them a call, just out of curiosity.

You have the right solution man. Drive another Vette to judge if you have a real problem. Otherwise don't waste your time with a dealer. Better to wait until you're sure there's a problem. You have plenty of warranty left. Good luck man.

I think I'll try the detent spring and maybe a fluid swap next; thanks for the advice, but what bothers me is that mine pretty much acts the same regardless of temp. My clutch seems more grabby when cold but that's about the only thing that changes with temp.
