So I was cruising around town in my new 6z z06 (14k miles) and it was a one owner and it's pretty clean. I got down on it a little bit from 2-4 and then put it in neutral and just cruised. I made a u turn put in second and then my service advancetrac light came on, then the abs light came on but the car was running fine. I got off the freeway to pull over and shut her down and just waited 5 minutes, started it back up, and the lights were cleared. What could be the issue causing this?
I am a new corvette owner/forum member so I'd greatly appreciate the help!!
I'm at Mac haik right now having them check that out a long with a rear end clunk sound I noticed this morning. I'm glad they are doing the right thing and taking car of me as a customer
Call for a battery load test.Weak battery can produce many false lights. Rear end clunk may simply require change of differential fluid. The newest GM fluid (DEXRON LS Gear Oil) has a friction modifier in it to stop positraction clutches from sticking, which causes clunking sounds.
It's supposedly cranking out 600 ccas and it tested good but I'm dropping it off at the dealership tomorrow so they can fix everything. I'm just glad even though it's a one owner pre owned car that the dealership is stepping up to make sure the car is 110% because of the amount of money that was spent on it. I read it could be the diff fluid or some type of axle nut?
Loose Axle nuts can also cause clunking sounds. There is a technical service bulletin to replace those nuts if a problem. Your dealer will know about it. Sway bar end links also can be a source of clunks. Hopefully you will have a good experience with the dealer service dept. in fixing everything.
Yea I told them to take their time and go over everything with a fine tooth comb. I am confident they will fix everything because my dad is interested in buying a car from them as well but won't until he sees the dealership has made sure I'm good to go without any hassle
