The ECU in my 06 Vert has gone bad. The symptoms: drove the car all day last sunday with no problems. Parked the car and covered it up for 2 days, when I went to start it Wednesday AM it was misfiring. Checked the codes and found the full injectors open. Took it to garage to have it checked diagnosis is the cylinder 3, 7, 1, are not functioning and that problem was traced back to the ECU.
I cant get the car worked on until next Friday at the local Chevy Dealer..Question?? Can I change out the ECU myself or is this a job left to the professionals, does the ECU need to programed once installed??

You don't need yo go to the dealer, A1 Cardone can supply the reman PCM and program it prior to install.
I would like more info on how they determined the PCM is failed, they rarely fail anymore.
