Default BB Fusion help needed...

I currently have BB fusions. They sounded great prior to the head/cam/headers (no cats) package I had done. Immediately after, I noticed a slight rattle upon start up, but it went away almost immediately. The car sounded great at idle and screamed at WOT! In order to try and fix the slight rattle, the shop put on stiffer tension springs per BB's recommendation. At first I really didn't notice a change. Still slight rattle at start up and killer idle sound and scream at WOT! However, over the last couple days, the car seems much quieter. I am not sure if the flaps are not opening all the way due to stiffer springs? I also notice exhaust build up near the flaps due to not running cats. I might just go with the BB bullets, but want to make sure there would be nothing else that would cause the car to quiet down, before I shell out more money. If I go bullets, I want as loud as possible. I know the Z06 bullets come with an extra small resonator that I would have them delete, but is there anything else BB can do to make them louder? Thanks guys!

I think B&B released a newer design Fussion that is louder.

check the little vacuum canister that opens the flap.

The drivers side canister connecting arm (little arm that goes from the canister to the flap) came loose and vibrated out on mine. So that even if tried to open the flap manually it would only open partially because the canister was out of travel.

I adjusted that little connector arm that the flap was just cracked a hair at the closed position.

Haven't had a problem since

Not intending to hijack your thread, but I too have headers with B&B Fusions. Absolutely love the WOT sound about 3k. Nothing else like it. However driving steady-state at 1.6K - 1.8k RPM is really a killer in the car. Unfortunately that equates to my "comfort" speed on the highway in 6th gear.

So, the question is do you have a REAL bad drone at that RPM? I'm beginning to think I might have an exhaust leak at of the joints.

Thanks in advance,
Bob...

Thanks...I thought it was my set up. I really don't want to rip out the headers/x-pipe, but that RPM range is killing me.

I'm wondering if sound insulation would help?! There are a lot of threads and I'm not afraid to rip the interior out, but only if it would make a difference.

Last resort would be going back to stock NPP pipes.

When working properly (today actually) I have some drone in those rpm ranges also, but not too bothersome with windows down.

Thx for the comments. I can't decide what to do! If I go bullets, I am probably going to go the route of deleting the mufflers, and just have the small resonators further up the pipe. I just don't want to lose that deep sound and or retune, which I am not sure would be necessary without mufflers?

Just saw this thread.

Gen3 Fusion is the latest version, and is the loudest version when in the loud mode.

Mike Boat told me he spoke with you about this. He says he hopes you decided which direction to go with the exhaust, and to let us know if we can be of further assistance.

I did speak with Mike, and we had a nice chat. I am still undecided on what I am going to do. But if I do switch exhausts, I think I am going to go with custom bullets. I really wish I could get in touch with someone that has gone this route to see if they were happy with the result.
