I know this issue has shown up but I would have thought GM would have solved the problem. One of my lifters started making a ticking noise, then a few miles later starting running rough, check engine and traction control fault came in (2000 miles on vette). Dealer found #5 cylinder coil wire slipped off, they replaced bad wire and I was back on the road.
I have heard of this happening multiple times in the past on new/almost new Corvettes.
Makes me wonder if I should carry a spare plug wire. Not sure where you could buy just 1 wire though???

The ticking noise was the spark jumping to ground, not a lifter. The rough running was from 1 cylinder not getting any spark.

For $60 shipped or so, I decided to replace all sparkplug wires with MSD superconductor 8.5mm wires at around 1K miles, which have 25 ohm resistance, rather than 800 , so money well spent IMO. And yes, the stock ones have a tendency to slide out, because the crappy metal piece that it supposed to secure them breaks by just looking at it the wrong way. I decided to replace them as a precaution after reading of so many issues. Another alternative I learned about later is fitting the Z06 (LS7) wires, which are supposedly pretty good. Now have 5K on the '12 GS CE, and zero issues. Good luck.

Thanks for the info.
Mine is a 427 LS7 vert so I should have the good plug wires, but may go ahead and buy a set of the MSD 8.5 as spares. For only $60 probably a good idea.
