Default Halltech Super Bee MF105-S Bad Bee

If you want the badest bolt on Bee in the hive, we have it. The Halltech Super Bee MF105-S is for the LS3 customer who wants a leaner air fuel ratio, but not at the expense of losing their warranty from tuning.

Super Bee™ MF105-S is our highest performance induction system requiring no tuning. It comes with the Beehive™ heat shield. It features our MAF forward design for perfect idle quality and MAF translation. You will never get codes of any kind from our intake system. Jim Hall designed this intake for the street performance crowd, and has a 105mm MAF read area. This should improve your air fuel ratio from 11.25:1 to around 12.5:1.

Compare: The MF103 by comparison, is our plug an play 15 RWHP/14lbs-ft torque bolt on, and is engineered to translate the MAF tables exactly like stock, eliminating tuning or closed loop MAF tuning. The MF107R mimics the carbon fiber CF112, and will not run properly unless your tuner understands MAF area read scaling and how to re-translate the MAF tables. It is for the tuner type Speed Shop only.

The MF105-S has been tested on the LS3 and Z06, and it is the best intake on the market for the price vs. power ratio. Comes with the bridge, MAF forward extension G-8 pigtail, Super Bee filter and Beehive heat shield. Dyno tested at +19 RWHP/16lbs-ft. torque (Z06), with no tuning and no other mods. We have found that the power improvement to be identical when comparing the LS3 to the LS7 platforms.

The shop doing the testing had a prototype of our MF105-S. He also recorded a .61 second improvement 60-130 mph:
Indicated MF103, but this was our MF105-S.

The $459.99 pricing is through October. Comes with the MF105-S bridge, MAF forward extension G-8 pigtail, Smoothbore conn hose, Super Bee filter, trim and Beehive.

I noticed this on your site about a week ago and it looks very nice. I'm curious, since I'm not a big fan of the wet K&N type filters. I currently have a Z06 filter housing with a beehive to keep IATs down. With the work you guys have done in the past with Donaldson, have you considered using one of their dry type Powercore filters manufactured with a 4.5" flange? I know Volant has a series of Donaldson filters with this type of flange, but they don't have the long oval type appropriate for the space limitations on our cars. Great product, though! Thanks for fielding an off-the-wall question.

Doesn't the LS3's oem A/F ratio at WOT vary between 11.25 to 11.75? How will the new air intake affect the various A/F ratio values of the oem tune?

We tried 5 versions the Volant/Donaldson on our Camaro intake, and in each instance the turbulence caused long term fuel trims to exceed +25% tripping lean codes. Nothing we could do made a difference.

We designed our own filter and K&N makes it. We had them dyno test the AEM dry filter vs. our filter (just the media change) and the dry was way too restrictive.

Katech uses only the Halltech Super Bee on their engine dyno, since the filtration has proven time and time again to be the best. When they have done cam swaps on customer's cars that have 20,000+ miles with our intake, the bores are glass smooth and show no signs if wear.

Int WOT the a/f does vary from rpm to rpm. This translates to our intake by running 12.2 to 12.5:1. Both safe air fuel ratios for 93 Octane. If you live in a 91 Octane state, stick with the MF103 unless you have access to a dyno with widebands, and logging software to watch for knock retard.

The MF105-S takes a little more precaution than the MF103, but 93 Octane is going to make this intake a screamer.

The MF105-S is perfect. Use the higher octane fuel.

Is the only difference between the MF103 and the MF105-S the bridge? If so, can I get the bridge separately to upgrade my MF103 that I bought from you just a few months ago?

Never mind. I just reread this thread and I live in a 91 octane state so I guess I will get the 103 instead. I almost hit the pay button on Paypal.
