So, decided replacing a brake light can't be too hard. Just take the screw off, twist the bulb out, get the new one in, et cetera. No problem! Went to put it back in, and the bracket that goes onto the bumper that accepts the screw fell into the bumper. Took a magnet on a stick, to no avail. Does anyone know where to find another bracket? Thanks guys =)
What an awesome site, thank you for the link! I tried doing a 4am run to walmart with te screw and the bracket in hand from one of the other brake lights, didn't help. I have an appointment to get a whole new stereo thrown in the car tomorrow, and really gotta figure out a way to get that brake light to stay in, hahaha. It's a pretty awkward thing to try to secure in there without the correct bracket. I was thinking about putting some puddy or something in there to keep it in place to go get my stereo done, lol. Again, thanks for the site.
If you are going to have the stereo replaced don't get anything till you check with them, they may have a retainer that works, they probably collect them all the time. I have a butt load in my tool box.
I've dropped two of the retainers and just got what fit outta my box so they may have some as well, check with them.
Sound advice. I don't ever throw away anything, I just didn't have any clips that fit the width of the bumper. It seems like Corvette engineers could have secured the clamps onto the bumper a little better. All of the things that I look forward to seeing in the C7!
