Default First Engine Rebuild

My timing chain went, so I feel like I should refresh the whole motor.
Problem is it's my first time, and I have a few questions.

Does anyone here still have a parts list from when you did it?
What's the best way to yank the motor out? Motor plus transmission? Motor only? And do I need to take off the entire front end?

Can I do everything on my own or do I at any point need a machinist?

Upgrades! I was thinking a cam while I'm at it, any other ideas? Also keep in mind we don't have a dyno here in Guam so I can't get it tuned. Or can I tune on my own with a tuner?

Sorry for so many questions in one thread, there's just so much to learn.
If any one has a good book or website they can recommend that could teach me some essentials on ls2 rebuilds or rebuilds in general while I order all the parts, would be real helpful.

Thanks ahead of time.
