Anybody install the 3" Z06 NPP mufflers on an 07 base coupe with 2 1/2" outlets by fabricating some sort of coupler? Only reason I ask is that I've found more Z06 NPP mufflers for sale then the 2 1/2" base ones. Will the 3" even fit over the axle?
Z06 Bimode is NOT the same as the NPP. the NPP is only on C6 and C6 GS Corvettes, The Z06 BiMode is completely different.
The Z06 mufflers can be used on a C6 but you have cut and weld to do it.You'll have to use a reducer at the end of the mid pipe or cut the overaxle pipe and weld in the C6 over axle pipe to use the Z06 while the C6 NPP is a bolt in..

I have z06 muffler on my base 05 car. there is no need for a coupler you can cut the z06 muffler about a inch off the muffler and then cut the stock pipes about a 1/2 inch off the muffler hook your over the axle pipes back to the y pipe and hang the zo6 mufflers off the stock hanger slide the two together and then tac weld them. pull the hole thing back out and weld them fully. this took me about a hour to do and I also did the muffler mod at the same time because the z06 mufflers are not as loud as the NPP muff. I can get you pic's of mine in the morning if you would like to see
i will get pic in the morning for you. If you get a chance to see a set of z06 muffers the pipes come out of the mufflers they swell up to the 3 inch size I cut them off right at the end of that. the 2 1/2 pipes will fit right inside of this and weld right up the hardest part is making sure you keep the tips level when spot welding them
How do they sound? What control system did you use? I am a little concerned, welding them in is permanent and getting them level may be a problem. I'll have to take them to a shop to do this. I can get the mufflers, take them to a shop to install and then I can install the NPP in a box. At least that's the plan. If I can get the 08 NPP, I can do it all myself. Getting the 08 NPP mufflers seems to be the issue. What year Z06 muffler should I be looking for or does it matter?

Any year Z06 muffler will work. The cans are all the same size and you'll be cutting off the pipe anyway to use your current 2.5" pipe.
