Default replacing belts on ls3, give some pointers please

want to replace my belts just because i'm at 54.000mls for peace of mind.

I found many threads about the belt sizes, etc, (and many HB references )
but no "how to" for replacing the belts on a ls3 (2009).

ordered gy gatorbacks, appears to be the preferred option here, (according to my forum research 4040410 + 4060798).

hope you can give me a few pointers so I can start this as prepared as possible:

serpentine belt:
- I assume I should move the intake air filter assy out of the way first, which should give me good view as well as access to the tensioner,
- move the tensioner to take off belt,
- what size tool and what tool to use best for this?


ac belt:
- similar to above but:
- where is the tensioner?
- how to access it best?
- what size tool and what tool best to use?


let me know, anything helps

Do a search on youtube for corvette serpentine belt replacement. I watched one just a few hours ago. It was an 04 but replacement is the same. It was a pretty straight forward video.

yeah, thanks for kicking me , actually saw the serpentine video the other day too but somehow missed the ac belt video.

many thanks to "froggy"


bottom line as I see it:
- move away the air cleaner assy on the ls3,
- use 15mm socket/wrench for each tensioner,
- need to do the ac belt from underneath,
- someone with a helping hand would make things easier,


now i'm waiting for the belts to arrive and the time to spare...

take a picture of the belt routing 1st

gatorbacks work great on these cars. the job is easy should take 30 minutes. spin the pulleys and check your balancer while you are in there.
