Default 2005 Starting Problem

2005 coupe six speed If this car sits a few days when you go to start it nothing. The check engine light will light but nothing. If I unhook the battery cable and hook it back up the car will start.

This car worked fine except the air bag light was on. Took it to a Chevy dealer for the airbag light they said the BCM didn't have the correct vin number in it and it needed a new BCM to fix the airbag problem.

They install the new BCM no more airbag light. I pick it up and on the way home the XM will not play. The car has Nav and on the top of the screen it says XM locked. The radio will play on AM or FM but locked on XM.

I take it back to the dealer and they tell me it needs a new NAV/radio unit. I said it worked fine before you touched it. I took the car back.

I am wondering if the no start has something to do with the new BCM

Its possible since I'm willing to bet it never needed a BCM in the first place. That airbag light is a pretty common problem and 99.9% of the time its caused by a loose connector under the seat. What does the voltage say on your battery? When was it replaced last? Also, I would not go back to that same dealer.

This is the connector that usually is the problem. Contact the NHTSA and let them know. GM will never fix this problem unless we continue to file complaints. Why wait until someone is hurt or worse. Toyota just released a recall for air bag problems. Why not the Corvette?
