Need a trigger tool to set up a new sensor, just a basic will do but which one?
I have come across Ateq VT-5/10/15 , Orange EL-50448 OEC-T5 and the Cub trigger tool, which seems to do more than the others?
Any experience of these tools good / bad / need to avoid etc.
I am in the UK so need to get it right first time.
Thanks
Mike.
If your car was originally exported by GM, I think the TPMS are a different frequency than US spec cars so you would need to double check the compatibility of any tool you might choose. Sorry I don't have better detail on that issue but just wanted to mention it.
If you need more info post back, I might be able to dig up something with a search.
Thanks Rick
Fortunately my car is US spec so no problems there, although research indicates that these tools will also work on Euro spec cars as the trigger frequency is different to the main sensor sending frequency, the trigger frequency apparently just kicks the unit into life like the magnet on the C5.
Thanks all, I understand the process having carried it out on my C5 I was just wanting recommendation or other regarding the various trigger tools. I have just ordered the Orange T5 EL 50448 as that appears to be the one Chevy agents are asked to hold in their kits, so I guess it should do the job?
