1. The Z06 bi-mode mufflers are basically the same as the NPP mufflers that were an option on your car with a 6 HP improvement that about 64% of base and GS were equipped. You need to draw your own conclusions as to value.
2. Simple answer - yes. In depth, cut your mufflers off the OEM over-the-axle pipe as close to the muffler as possible. Cut the Z06 mufflers off similar, except leave an extra 3/4" of pipe remaining. Weld the Z06 mufflers to your OEM pipe.
3. Most of the Z06 mufflers I've seen sell for $400 +/- $100. A muffler shop will charge somewhere around $100 to do the swap plus you'll want to find a method to control the valve opening. The cost of the control can range from $20 DIY to $200 installed.
If you meant the full Z06 system, add another 10-12 HP and $300-400 for parts and up to $300 for installation. The additional labor will include a needed reducer from 3" to 2.5" at the back end of the H-pipe to mate up with your OEM over-the-axle pipe.
Note: If you strip back the tape on the wiring harness going to the O2 sensors, you'll have enough length to reach the bungs on the Z06 pipes and avoid buying extensions.
My thread with a lot of pics is here
For ease of swapping, I bought 2013 Z mufflers and sold my factory NPP mufflers. I also sold my LS3 cats. With the sale of parts, the net cost was ~$350-$400 including gaskets, new studs, o2 harness extensions, etc.

Of course one would want the updated 2011- Z06 NPP's with the better sound.

I did this mod with my '11 GS at the same time as my S/C install, as my tuner said it was worthwhile. Any HP increase cannot be determined due to the fact that it was done at the same time as the supercharger install and tune.
But boy howdy is it louder. One thing that would be cool, besides a pre-tune dyno comparison, is a video/sound comparison before and after, both recorded in the exact same location.
