Unless you're planning on a max effort setup trying to squeeze every single HP out of it while shaving off every fraction of a second in the 1/4 mile, I see no reason to spend money on cylinder heads for an LS3 engine that's about to get boost. The LS3 castings flow an absolute ton of CFM, and are more than sufficient for any boosted street car.
Not to mention, an additional 50hp is a pulley size away with a blower. Much cheaper than spending $1000-2000 on cylinder heads.
Ok, im actually surprised you guys are saying to stay with the stock heads. I know they flow an incredible amount, but was looking for that 490+ rwhp number NA.
Guess I should just wait and get my blower then....

It's been done...With our "baby" 224/234 camshaft..Lots of compression, a good exhaust and good cam selection will make all kinds of power with stock LS3 castings.
I just sold my blower setup...made 614/598 with stock LS3 heads and a 224/232 cam. Starting over and going back n/a though with a bigger cam, decked/CNC heads, all the bolt-ons/stall, gears/A6 upgrades...I'm doing it the way it should have been done to begin with. Back to front, bottom to top.
IMO, if you're planning on boost, just save your $$...or if you want a head upgrade now, just have your stock heads CNC'd.
Big heads are a bit of a waste on a boosted driver LS3 unless you're putting a stroker together or really getting serious at the track.
