Default Dirty Brake Pads.

I just installed new Cray wheels today. I drove 4 miles home from Discount Tire and the wheels were dirty. The brake dust is ridicules on my 13 Grand Sport. Stock pads. What's the solution?

Good catch, especially if you want to make fun of someone.

Lol. That's ok Lisa. He doesn't have a clue about brake pads. Ceramic pads for $100.00? Besides, I've tried three different brands of ceramic pads that really didn't work for me. Their still dirty and don't stop well. Hopefully, someone has something that has worked for them and will let me know.

Auto spell check. Didn't catch it. Oh well......

Yes, I was being a smart ***.

But, I'm genuinely surprised that ceramics haven't worked for you. Even the cheap-o auto zone pads have helped with that problem for me.

Have you tried EBC? They have been amazing pads in my experience. Green stuff before red myself. But red were good too!

I didn't try EBC. I tried one set from Auto Zone, one from a forum vendor, and finally Hawk pads. This was on my C5. The ceramic pads work great on my C3. Not so much on my C5 and I'm hesitant to try them on this Grand Sport. Hawk pads are around $300.00. And again, their still dirty! I'll takes look at EBC. I've used them on motorcycles.

The Carbotech 1521 ceramic based brake pad will greatly reduce your dust while still maintaining the stopping power you would expect from your corvette. Also the dust is a 100% non corrosive so, it will not harm your wheels or paint on the car. We make a 1 piece pad or the regular pad lets, I prefer the 1 piece pad. If interested give me a call at 216-780-8825 I will be happy to help you.

The Carbotech™ 1521™ is our high performance street compound. The 1521™ compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521™ is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotech™ 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800°F (426°C+). 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotech™ 1521™ is NOT recommended for ANY track use.

1 piece F $290 Less 5%.
1 piece R $246 Less 5%.

12 Individual Backing Plates-Front $270 Less 5%.
8 Individual Backing Plates-Rear $233 Less 5%.
