Default Leaving front rubber valence off

Sup guys fairly new to the forum and had a question. I noticed last week when driving the vette that the front right rubber valence located under the bumper has fallen off. It actually has a clean look and was thinking of removing the remaining 2 pieces. Anyone have their car set up this way, any downside to this. I know the part serves a purpose, at face value it doesnt seem like it would harm the car much. Thanks

Get ready,,, asking about that is like asking what is the best oil.... LOL

First, they come as a kit. You can get them from Gene Culley on here pretty cheap.
You'll get a lot of opinions about whether you should remove them. I'll give you my 2 cents...... If they were totally useless GM wouldn't have put them on there. If they weren't on there I wouldn't know when I was about to rip my front splitter off the car .
And lastly (oops that's three cents), as I mentioned above, they're really cheap (about $90 for the whole set I think) Good Luck

They serve a few purposes - preventing more air from getting under the car - the air will cause more drag (especially since the car doesnt have a flat underside), also preventing air from getting under the rear helps reduce rear end lift

The front valence also helps create a higher pressure zone up front to feed the underside inlet for the radiator

The side valence sections create high pressure zones to guide more air into the brake ducts

The downside of it (all 3 pieces) is that it does add to front end lift at speed

removing the valence will reduce some of the front end lift, but this will be at the expense of drag and rear end lift

removing the side sections will decrease brake cooling
