My apologies if I am reviving a topic already been discussed. I am assisting a friend and a corvette club member, the car is a 2006 convertible. I read the code the other day and got the P2068, this is due the fuel gauge not registering and low fuel warning. At first I thought it was the fuel cap not on right, then I was told it could use a re-flash of the ECM. I tried to make an appointment at the local dealer to re-flash, that's when the sale manager shared with me he had the same problem and the fuel cap or the re-flash did not fix it. It was the oxygen sensors that fix it (front).
My question before I have her get O2 sensors for me to install: is it that common for O2 sensors affect the fuel system indicator, fuel gauge not registering and the trip monitoring system for mileage before empty type data. Thank you in advance.
Probably deposits built up on the fuel gauge sending unit in the fuel tank. Drop a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner in the tank. Many have had succees by doing this first.
If that doesnt do the trick then it is your fuel gauage sending unit that will need replacing
O2 sensors not a chance for this type of issue...he is BS`ing you
