I'm new to vettes so forgive my occasional foolish questions but I'm wondering why the traction control/launch control on the C6 can't seem to do it's job. Coming from big HP AWD cars, I miss the amazing low gear acceleration I used to have. 1st is useless and 2nd is hitting 60 before things start to hook up. Launch control is even worse. I love the LS3 but I'm wishing for better low gear thrust.
Your experience in the past doesn't translate well to Corvettes. Traction control only robs power. You need a stickier tire than what you're using. If it were me and I drove my car on the street I would use whatever the stickiest tire is with a little tread on it in case I was caught in the rain. Maybe an NT05R. Others are definitely more knowledgeable about the right tire to use than myself.

You bought a Corvette..Congratulations . Now it's time to put on you Big Boy Pants and learn how to drive a car with a Ton of Power. Just remember this is not your average Ricer w/ all wheel drive that drives the car for you.
Just looking for advise on aftermarket traction control for our cars. Not a pair of big boy pants (not sure what that is). Going with better tires is the obvious solution but this car is new so it might be awhile before I have that option. 436HP = Ton of Power? I think it's adequate.
try running 24lbs hot in the back, be very careful when tires are cold. when they wear out get a set of theses MT 305X35X18 1.3 60 FTS BUT STILL HAVE TO LEAVE PART THROTTLE,492 rwhp

For a lot of people that is a "ton" of hp. Problem is for a lot it's no where near adequate for others. I run NT05R tires and they're pretty good for street traction.
I had the same problem with traction and swapped the OEM tires for RE-11s and the car is totally transformed. Great traction. You may have to wait if your tires are new but that's the solution.
If you're stock LS3 and and a base C6 corvette, you need different tires if you like punching it all the time, especially in cooler temps. Otherwise you will feel the traction control kicking on constantly.
I went from base C6 to the Grand Sport fvette or that very reason, and now have Bridgestone Potenza RFs on it. Wider and different tires.
Its a daily driver, and I punch it several times most days, and accellerate quickly with very little spin, at any temp from the mid 40's on up. And this is over 20k miles on them too.
Even on wet roads, they rarely spin in 2nd and up.
Now, having said all that, IF I want to show off, I can smoke them in 1st, but just get a loud bark grabbing second, if I turn the nannies to competition settings.
I just figured my TC isn't working AT ALL. Usually a light or that drop in power feeling happens in other cars.
These Goodyears don't make any sound whilst spinning them, too. Which is a little unnerving since they spin SO easily on a glazed city street past its prime.

C7's come with Michelin, that tells a bit of a story.
