I Think i Broke it....
Went to the track to test out the 3.42 C6Z diff i just installed.
Got it all tuned a few nights ago and was ready to see how it would do.
I fought with traction on these 295/45/17 Mts. I was running the 315/35/17 Hoosiers before and recently swapped a few months ago.
Even aired down to 15psi hot(started at 18) i was having issues with spinning after it would pull the tires.
I kept telling myself the MTs were gonna bite me in the *** with the hard sidewall..... Well they did.
After 4 passes on the C6Z diff this happened.
Was doing this all day but right after it would pull the tires it would spin bad and come right back down.

About half way through the pass it felt strange so i aborted the pass.
I pulled over in the return lane and seen the diff leak so i went to the pits.
Car still drove fine, but got it towed home. Everything was still together but just cracked. When i unbolted it all is when it all fell apart.

I would give one a try. I got it from East Coast Superchargers and they are big drag racers, so maybe it will help.

That sucks. I thought the Z diffs were stronger. Did you have wheel hop? A brace could definitely be a good addition too.

Wow... that does suck man. Hope your able to get it back up and running soon... Do you have any plans to beef that area up on the next set up or are you going with the same OEM case/parts? Does anyone make a brace for that section? I think I saw one that someone makes... Not sure if it would have help you but its looking like you can use all the help you can get with the power your putting to the ground.

Subfloor has broken that spacer a few times. Maybe he has some advice...PM him on it. He hasn't broken one in a while I don't think.
Nice wheelie!

Yup. I have one of his on my car. Broke a shaft and an axle, but nothing else so far.

Oh yeah! Shane's vette was coming out of hole hard! Sucks that it broke like that.
He's hi speed and by now I bet the stock diff is already in place.

He'll need to replace the rear trans plate first
