I recently upgraded my 05 to the CE steering wheel. When I went to install the new clock spring the connectors on the column were different. here is a picture of what the connection needs to look like

and this is what I need it to look like so my horn will work

Has anyone had this issue and what do I need to do? Thanks

Read those post but they didn't help me. My old steering wheel is completely differnt than the one I have installed. I had to upgrade the clock spring that that is where the wiring harness is.

I'm not really sure of what you are trying to do here but ...........I think you are trying to replace your wheel from an 05 type to an 08 type, if this is correct you will need to get both sets of wiring diagrams and move/replace the wires to fit/adapt to whatever you have at the end of your steering column in your car. If you replaced the clock spring then all of the wiring at the steering wheel end should fit because they are made for each other, Unless you have added a 3rd style of wiring? Like I said I'm confused on what you have done, a little more detail would help.

I have replaced my 05 to a 12 steering wheel. It has both BT and radio controls but I'm not worried about them working at the moment I need my horn to work so I can pass safety inspection. I have replaced the clock spring and the issue is that to plug pictured above are different at the the column. do i need to replace the wiring harness on the column and if i do do the plugs match up everywhere or am i going to have the same problem I'm having now just farther down the harness.

That is the problem. These cars are wired differently that is why you will need both sets of wire diagrams. I have not been into my vette but will be soon as i am replacing my 08 wheel with a 2012 GS wheel and expect some issues. I did however replace my steering wheel on my 98 Z28 with one from an 02 and had to switch a wire if i remember correctly. I do however remember distinctly that the plastic plugs were not the same and i had to do some cutting on one of them to get them to go together even after I moved the wire. You need to be very careful because your air bag connection is there and you do not want to set that off. Electronics in these car are very tricky.
