Shoot me a email and I'll send you a link to download something I wrote up. It usually takes me about 2-1/2 hours to do the swap.

I have a lift in my garage, but the drive may cost you more than the labor.

If you do not have a lift you will need:

2 sets of these jack stands: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...5227_200305227

1 of these that can lift to 24" from < 3":
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...4333_200514333

Get the car 24" in the air from the bottom of the fenders.

1 of these

A buddy to help. Probably a few ways to skin the cat. Last time my buddy had the back half of the car I had the front: He took drivers side I think rear caliper off, all wires, wheels, and I took off headers, exhaust and trans tunnel plate. Then I took off the shifter, he hitched up the diff/trans to the jack, undid the cradle bolts and I supported the torque tube and engine. Torque tube by hand, engine with another jack and block of wood on the oil pan. He lowered some and I wiggled the engine and torque tube until it came undone. (Im leaving out a lot of steps like disconnecting slave bleeder line if you have it, clutch line, torque tube to bellhousing bolts). Sorry i don't have a step by step or pictures but I could help by PM or phone if needed.

You don't need to touch the exhaust, torque tube, tunnel plate or shifter when doing the swap.

Interesting! This will be my thanksgiving day project as it's my FULL day off from a 6 day work week... I haven't seen any YouTube videos for this so I'm thinking about having a few buddies over and well make a write up on doing this with out removing everything off the car...

Sounds like a tranny swap going on there. If its just the diff, its a fairly simple affair. Don't forget the seal between the trans and diff.
Ask me how I know.

And also don't forget the tailhousing gasket and tranny fluid as you have to replace the tailhousing.

I prefer Red Line oil, You are spending $x,xxxx on a diff, I would spend the $30 for new lube.

Diff Gael oil will be replaced however the trans fluid was just replaced, assuming I swap the diff with the trans still in the car I may not even drain the trans... I'm running Barney's blood ( RP ) on all fluids and have never had a problem however finding redline local was not an option at the time I did the flush... Will consider trying RL in the new diff as I have seen lots of positive reviews
