Default Strange Oil Pump Problem

I have a 2005 Z51 and I recently did the big 3 electrical upgrade for my sound system. I was also a little low on oil so I added half a quart. I noticed about a week later that my oil pressure gauge started jumping more than it usually does and occasionally goes into low pressure warning and the pressure on the gauge is at 0. After a few seconds it hops back up and starts fluctuating again.

I figure I can narrow it down to 3 problems, but wanted to see what yall thought.

1) Oil Pump going out (140k miles DD)

2) Bad connection electrically (going to re-crimp a few 0 gauge connectors that don't seem to be as tight)

3) Possibly too much oil?

Any other thoughts on this guys?

unless you left a ground off somewhere it is just a coincidence. the oil pressure sensor is under and behind the intake manifold (near the firewall). you will have to lift the intake off and swap it out.

Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping its just a bad connection since it looks like i'm getting some voltage fluctuations. Is that sensor fairly easy to replace (aka take off the intake then its a bolt on bolt off)?

Numbers 1 and 2 are possible, not 3. Most likely it is the sensor or the electrical going to it. It may not have anything to do with your stereo work and just be a coincidence.

Really simple once you remove the intake manifold. Unclip the wire and wrench the sensor out, pretty obvious once the manifold is out.

Some have cut a hole in the panel between the windshield wipers for access to the oil pressure sensor without removing the intake manifold. The sensor is directly under the panel.
