I am wondering if anyone has installed a 25% underdrive on a daily driver and is there noticable issues with the accessories? I have found a few sizes between ATI and SLP and would like to get one on the way before I have to return to Houston and need the car again.
big problem with broken timing chains with ether of them MHO the potential gains ain't worth the problems, go with a good SFI rated pulley in stock size, get real HP else where TUNE IT!
The broken chains that you know of... where they on cars that people raced or everyday cars? I ordered it about an hour ago after not hearing or seeing any other reports of issues. I have plans to have a cam swap and it reprogrammed at a later date. I have to admit, you now have me concerned with causing more damage... thanks for that BTW. LOL
both track and street cars, there' been far too many to ignore on LS motors, you will have some tell you to go to a stronger chain, but you can get better HP else where IMHO
OP: Go with the ATI unit and maybe add one of these - http://store.katechengines.com/bille...sioner-p2.aspx As for the timing chain, as long as you use the ATI unit, your chances are very small from what I have seen. The OEM unit is garbage, IMO.
Also, if you are going to do a cam install, I would do both items together in order to save on time and labor. Here is a great shop, if you are in Houston Texas - http://www.510racingllc.com/
