Hi all, i have a weird problem in my 2007 corvette c6 , this issue is just new, never happened before, appeared 30 days ago, while i´m driving, only sometimes, not always, with the a/c on the temperature starts going up, when i turn the a/c off the temp goes down, 10 days ago without the a/c on the temp started going up, i pulled over, turned off the car, then after 1 min i turned it on and the temp marker started to go down ... so i dont understand this .. i want to drive to another city and i just dont feel comfortable anymore.. what if in the middle of the trip the temp goes up ? i cant take that risk, i alrdy checked all the fuses and they are ok.
Sometimes when i go to buy something at the drugstore or something to eat, it takes me like 5 mins to go , buy the thing and then go back to my car, i have seen after i turn on the car the temp is up, from the middle to right like 1/4 and then i hear the fan working, then slowly the marker starts going down untill stays in the middle ..
i dont have any coolant or water leaks, nor oil leaks neither.
I alrdy took it with an electrician and he just said he doesnt know what it is, pls help !!
This is a quote that was in response to a different problem but I think it applies to your issue. Try the tip on switching the DIC to Coolant Temp and watch it. If it goes up and down then it's a pretty good indication the sensor is bad.

If it happens again, switch the DIC over to coolant temperature. When i did the DIC displayed, 220, then 170 then 210, then 160 and kept changing, which tells me it is bad.

i will try that also, hopefully it will guide me for an answer to my problem

The only weird thing about this , its when the temp gauge goes up, and then i hear the fan working the temp gauge goes down .. it may be the fan or i dont know ..
The temp gauge goes up, fan comes on, temp goes down. Thats exactly whats supposed to happen. Whats the problem? You dont say what the temperature is going up to. If its under 220-225° in traffic you probably dont have a problem.

My temperature gauge is always below the middle lines, when i have the overheating problem it goes over the middle line 1/4 to the right, that´s overheating, and i dont know why that happens, that´s my issue in this post
From your statements it sounds like you aren't using the temp gauge in the dash? The gauge in the dash is marked in degrees F and should go down slightly when the fan comes on (the fan comes on whenever you turn the A/C on). The car should run around 210° (+ or - 15°) whether the A/C is running or not.

The problem is when i´m driving with the a/c on the temp gauge SOMETIMES starts to go up over the half line where it supposed to be .. this is a new thing and is not good obviously, and now the problem went worst, sometimes when i´m driving with the a/c off SOMETIMES the gauge goes over the middle line of the temp marker and i have to pull over, turn off the car, then turn it on, i hear the fan makes a sound that is working and the gauge starts coming down, this is not a normal thing and i want to know how can i fix it because before this never happened ...
Can you tell us what the actual temperature is when it "over heats"? Change the dic to coolant temperature, what is the number. Its hard to tell what your talking about without knowing some actual numbers.

Again; I don't know what temp gauge you are using. The round temp gauge in the dash doesn't have a "1/2 line" or a "middle line of the temp marker".
Read the round gauge in the dash. If it's near 210° F you're OK.
I had a similar symptom with one of my other cars and it turned out to be a bad thermostat. Unless you can swap the thermostat yourself it's time for the shop. Could be a sensor as well but unless you can test the sensors it's part swapping time.
I've read all the posts here and on C6 discussion. One thing that isn't clear to me is this: when you're driving on the highway does the temp gauge read high-low-high-low or does it stay in the same spot? If it does move up and down, look in your coolant tank and see if there's stuff in there that looks like a chocolate milkshake.
