I have a 35k mile 2008 LS3 Z-51 manual car. Currently running with LG long tubes, hi-flow cats, vararam intake and DRM tuned. It puts down 411HP/411TQ. I am wondering what peoples experiences are with nitrous on C6's? What kind of costs/labor are associated? What kind of damage is caused with the use of rarely used nitrous? Is tuning required? I would be looking for say a 100HP shot?, to be used RARELY, as in say 2-3 times per 5k miles. (after the initial WOW factor is gone maybe 5x.) I was thinking supercharger but I really feel I would end up constantly using it since its always on when the go-pedal gets pushed and I just don't feel right without forged internals. The nitrous would just be used based on my own self-control. Anyone with real info or recommendations please reply. I feel this could be the 1-upper I could tear by my buddys 32 ford at the track with un-benounced to him, and a little surprise fun for me.

i just traded my ls3 2010 camaro for a ls3 2008 corvette. putting all my stuff i had on my camaro on to my vette that i can reuse. on my camaro i ran a 100 shot quite a bit then later moved up to a 150 shot. yes tuning is required . but i got a lnc 2000 and pull timing myself so i can change the shot i want and not have to retune . but from my experience on the camaro they can handle a 150 shot with the right tune and plugs for a while. my camaro put down 461/423 with a cam and i was sprayin a 150 on top of that. it was fun. just get a good kit. with a window switch and pull 1 degree of timing for every 25 shot. to start out and read ur plugs. br7ef ngk is ur best bet. im not responsible if anything happens but thats my setup i ran and never had no problems but traction lol. then i got a progressive controller
Get a great kit like from Nitrous Outlet and all the extra IE window switch, lnc, etc. You will be fine with 100 shot. I plan to run 150 shot later. Full kit I was looking at was around 2k with every thing.

I had n2o on my G8 for almost 2 years and prob ran 40-50 bottles over that time. Here where i live n2o is 6$ a pound so it got expensive and i ditched it for a procharger.
With that being said things you will want.
Good n2o kit
Heater or A nano system
Window switch
WOT switch
Tune( don't be one of those guys who don't think you need a tune)
Whomever tunes it make sure they have a wideband and know how to check plugs and read them.
Proper plugs (tr6 is not a PROPER FI plug they are projected tip) i always recommend the BR series NGK plugs depending on shot size.
N2o can be safe with all of the proper and correct steps.
I had nitrous on my C5 for about 8 years. 150 shot for most of it. Bought the car with 10,000 miles, sold it with 96000. I changed some spark plugs but that was about it. Car did not disentegrate like some people will like you to think.
Its also great to click the power on when you want. Either traction related or when you really want to go fast. You can still dart around town on the motor and keep it controlled too.
I have always run NX kits. Make sure you load up on the options and get a tune.
Bottle Warmer
Fuel pressure safety switch
Window switch
WOT switch
Tune
I always ran NGK TR6 plugs
Wideband gauge
Nitrous gauge
Remote bottle opener if you don't want to turn around in traffic or on the e way.
i know 510 race engineering has a camaro over there before they built the motor for boost it was a stock rotating assembly they were spraying a 250 shot on it consistantly. they said everything looked perfect when they tore it down for the new build.
the new motor was interesting. stock ls3 block Grandsport ls3 dry crank i quess factory uses forged cranks in these. connecting rods from a cts-v and off the shelf forged je pistons of course arp bolts and studs everywhere. , to kill time while they were waiting for parts to fabricate turbo kit they were spraying a 300 shot to have some fun with the car.
