Default Paddle Shifting

I want to reverse the action on my shifters. When i am driving it feels so much more natural to pull on the paddle shifter to go up the gears than to look for the little push tab. I have twice pulled when maxing the tach in 1st gear and the car will over rev and it feels like the trans went into neutral, this can't be good. I want to reverse the function on the switches. has anyone done this or am I the first? I cannot find anything on this.

Is there a way to force the transmission to stay in paddle shift mode? It is really annoying to have the tranny shift back into fully automatic mode at speed or will stopped.

in sport mode (on my '13 at least), the car will stay in manual mode unless you force it out or put it in D. in D, it will go back to auto after a few seconds of boring driving.

I did the paddle shift mod to my car a couple weeks after I got it. Relatively easy; the pins are a pain to remove from the connector. I would recommend finding a tool designed to remove them before attempting to do it.
I don't remember which guide I followed...sorry.

My 2006 Coupe was the same way. I used to leave the Gear Shift in 'S' mode all of the time. There is a difference in shift points between 'D' and 'S' in auto mode. The transmission also shifts into 1st gear at stop in 'S' mode instead of 2nd in 'D'. I actually only used the Paddles twice in the year I owned it. on the other hand my 2013 is a close ratio Short Throw MZ6. It's always in Sport Mode.
