Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
I bought a lightly used 2005 3LT vert last April and have been very happy with the car. Had to fix the connector under the drivers side seat to make the airbag light go off like many of the rest of us (10 minutes of my time no $)
The one issue I am having is the previous owner removed the bulb from the under hood light and I cannot find the part number to replace it-not in my users manual, tried 4 or 5 auto parts stores, Rock Auto site etc.
can't help w the light bulb, just a few things I found when I was considering this:

apparently later models (like my 09) did not have that hood light anymore but it was available as an accessory, the harness connector is present.
from reading some posts there may be a chance if the light does not turn off properly when the hood is closed that it drains the battery.
this MAY be the reasoning for the prev owner to remove the bulb!?
I eventually decided to just keep a tiny led flash light in my center console.

Our 2006 had the light, our 2009 does not.
The light on the '06 was bright enough that I could tell, just barely, that the engine was still installed.

Thanks everyone. I just ordered the LED version from Corvette Mods. $15 and I had heard of the possible stay on/battery drain issue but the LED version has a very low draw and is brighter than stock, plug and play.
The under hood lights in my 1994 were way better built with real glass lenses and 2 of them plus I knew where the connection was in front of the driver-side front wheel, easy to pull apart. Really impressive opened up at a show!

I have an '05, and when this thread came up, I went out to the garage to see what the bulb said, and it was burned out! How dare a nine-year-old bulb finally give way!
I will be ordering the LED version, because the old bulb was barely enough light to see anything. I guess that's why they did away with it in subsequent years.

Can anyone help me out with a P/N?
Thanks!
The air bag light is a serious issue that GM will not address. Many of us have the problem and GM will not help us. Please file a complaint with the NHTA. It only takes a few minuets and is the only way we will get GM to take care of this problem.
