Highest reliability performance fuel pump for ls3 upgrade??
I occassionally get the "service fuel system" message, and my extended warrenty will pay for my sensors to be replaced.
I asked my dealer if they would also swap out my fuel pump (to the larger Z06 capacity), while they were replacing the sensors, and they said "sure, no problem, just bring us in the one you want to install".
Sooooo, I'm shopping for the most reliable, high output fuel pump that is a "drop in, no mods needed", for a 2011 Grand Sport.
Which pumps are you guys running for your supercharger, nitrous, E85, or other high fuel volume setups? Meaning, should I just buy the OEM Z06 pump, or go with an aftermarket one, and if so, what size?
I doubt I'll ever want to go over 700 rwhp, but while I'm in the fuel tanks, I don't want to have to drop them later to upgrade my fuel pump.
IIRCC the pumps in newer C6's flow the same as the Z06 (same pump/module). No need to upgrade. The oem pumps are very reliable if it supports your hp needs. I've been running the origional smaller (LS2 pump)with a kb boost-a-pump supporting 620 whp for 7yrs and its been a rock solid combo. The weak link is the oem wiring/connectors...not the pump.
The stock pump is more than fine. I've had some make more than 700 rwhp and some made in the mid 600's. If your in that area a MSD Fuel pump booster or a Kenne Bell will ensure you have enough pump.
OK, thanks for the feedback! Yea, since I'm going have to drop my tanks to replace the fuel sensors anyway, I figured I would upgrade the pump if needed.
Question though - Do you know why Edelbrock upgrades the fuel pump for their 599hp LS3 EForce supercharger? Is it "just to be safe", to absolutely ensure that there is no fuel starvation issues, or overkill?

The ls3 cam with a different pump than the ls7. The replacement is the same part and is the ls7 pump. Just want that to be clear so nobody assumes they have the better pump already in the ls3.
This could have changed in recent years but I know for certain is the case for earlier wet sump ls3 cars.
And as Alvin said many of us over 600 still have the stock ls3 pump in tank with a booster.

Yea, my thinking is I have around 40k on my car, I've gotta drop the tanks to replace the sensors anyway, so why not swap the pump at the same time to the Z06 version.
I know the booster will work, but by the time I buy and install a booster setup, it's almost a wash.
I'm also going to look at improving the fuel pump wiring too, as others have suggested, to prevent potential wiring connector issues.
