I have a 2005, all stock, basic coupe, that "bottoms" out to cause a scraping sound in the front, when going over almost any low dip in the road, and/or exiting and entering parking lots and driveways. I have heard that there might be some sort of an adjustment built in from the factory, to raise (or lower) the ride height, without too much effort. My local alignment shop looked at the car and said nothing is missing, bent, or broken, nor is there any kind of an adjuster. Yet compared to the other C6's in our club, mine sits about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" inches lower in a static position than the other similar cars. I am getting tired of the scraping noise every time I drive the car, and would like to resolve this issue. Can anybody shed some light on my problem? I doubt that the previous owner (a negligent female) did any deliberate modifications that would cause this to happen.
Does it sound like what's in the video I made? It's just the air damm and it's normal that it rubs on things. Don't worry about it. There is a spring adjuster bolt on each end of the leaf spring. Do a search here to see how to do it.
Thanks for the great video and quick reply. I'd have to agree with you on that one, but all I am running is the center dam, which may be the culprit most of the time. And if that's all that's rubbing, I can live with it. But that doesn't explain the ride height differences, and all the scratches and scrapings under the radiator area. I even measured tire diameters too just to eliminate that possibility. Am I making a mountain out of a molehill? My C5 never scraped that way, and I feel that they are basically the same car.....sort of.
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! WOOHOO! I might be the third owner of the car, and maybe the person before the gal I got it from, lowered it. Or perhaps, even the new car dealer might do it as a SOP for all the Corvettes that they sell. Who knows? Thank you bunches, my friend. I do appreciate it and for clearing up the "mystery" of a factory adjustable ride height.
I need to raise the nose of my 08. I had an A&A Supercharger added to the car and it added about 50 pounds to the front end of the car. Surprising that it added 50 pounds, but that's the result. The 50 pounds dropped the nose about 1/2 inch. I need to jack up the car and adjust the front suspension. The nut on the top of the front spring needs to be turned clockwise to rise the nose I think.

How much can you actually raise the front end by adjusting this bolt? Did you have to have the front end aligned after adjusting. I too want to raise my c5 a couple of inches and from looking at the adjuster I have some thread left to accomplish this. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you use the process to raise your vette and how much did you actually raise it? Did you have to do a front end alignment afterwards?
Thanks

My front end dropped about 3/4 inch with the E-Force install which adds a net 75 lbs. to the front end.

I don't know how much adjustment you have but it took 4 turns clockwise to compensate for the 3/4 inch drop and bring it back to the stock level which I measured before the install. There is still some adjustment left but I didn't have the front end realigned as I brought it back to the stock height.
