Default Exhaust Manifold Swap LS3 to LS7

Checking out the availability of LS7 exhaust manifolds and the feasibility of a LS3 to LS7 swap..given the more efficient and larger runners of the LS7..does it make sense, can it be done and what about the manifold...to....cat...to x pipe..what would it take to make it work? New O2 sensors? A tune would be obvious..has anyone done this???

Lots of people have done it.

Easiest (and best) way is to replace everything, manifolds, cats, mid pipe and axlebacks. Any other use requires cutting and welding of exhaust pipes.

....I have a complete Z06 exhaust (manifolds to tips) on my '05 LS2....I bought new mounting hardware (bolts, nuts and washers); only thing I forgot was the extensions for the O2 sensors but the guys putting the system in made custom extensions for me...that was four years ago

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but isn't it only possible to put the full Z exhaust on manual base cars? I am under the understanding that the axle back is where the problems occur on autos.

I am planning to do this to mine but having an auto and a fusion exhaust already I'm going to neck down the 3" H-pipe right before it goes into the axle backs.

with the A6 08 0r older if you use an 09 or newer X pipe you will have a problem on the passenger side connection. Search my name i recently posted some pictures of my install. I installed everything and then drove to a muffler shop and had him finish it up. It was a pretty easy fix. If I could bend pipe and weld I would have done it myself.

You're doing it the smart way and the method to gain the most HP.

any, any chance one can get the manifolds on with the cats installed ? i was thinking about unwrapping the wire instead of extensions for the 02 s, but i don t see any extra wire bundled up there.
