Default 2007 NPP Fit

Well it must be nearing spring, because here is another exhaust question! My 2007 LS2 6 speed manual is too quiet. I'd like to replace stock exhaust with GM NPP (bi-modal). Does anybody know for sure if NPP will fit...and if so does it matter what year/model the NPP exhaust came from?

Yes, they fit.

If you are going to replace just the mufflers, which include the over axle pipes, you need to find a 2008 NPP set.

If you can only find a 2009 or newer set, then you will also need to replace the X-pipe OR have a muffler shop adapt your current X-pipe to the passenger side muffler pipe. In 2009 GM changed the angle on the passenger side pipe so the 2008 and older don't match up exactly. The difference is small but enough that it isn't a straight swap between years. OR just find what you can and cut and weld them to your pipes.

You could also use Z06 mufflers. They would have to be cut off their over axle pipes, your mufflers would have to be cut off your over axle pipes and the Z06 mufflers would then be welded to your pipes. The Z06 mufflers are generally cheaper on the used market but they are also not as loud as the NPP mufflers, unless you found some 2011 or newer Z06's.

Default 2008 npp

There's also two sets of 2008 NPP mufflers on the parts forum. One in Arizona for $800 and one in Arkansas for $750. Good luck.

NPP brings a lot more $$$ than bi-mode Z mufflers.

If you buy ZO6 manifolds, cats, mid pipe then you'll have to use ZO6 mufflers unless you want to cut and weld.

NPP and ZO6 bimode sre different diameters and do not interchange.

2008 NPP will bolt on to your existing mid pipe. 2009 and up will not.

I figured if I'm going to the trouble of doing it I might as well pick up a few horses. I did the complete Z06 3" Bi-mode system, manifolds and all. Did my own control system. Why bother with the 2.5" NPP just to make it sound different. Sounds and works great! The seat of the pants dyno tells me it's faster too. I get quiet when I want and loud when I want.
