Default Modification Question

I have a C6 Base 2006. Current mods. Vararam, Cherry Bomb Axel Back. Going to put Headers with high flow cats on plus was considering a cam and Granatelli MAF Meter and a tune.

My question is: What type of gains should I expect? Anything you would do different?

Please speak in newbie terms. Input much appreciated.

Forget the maf. Maybe get an intake manifold instead.

Call the shop that will be doing the work and discuss your goals with them. Lots of cam choices out there.

Can't go wrong with these guys http://www.eastcoastsupercharging.com/

Go with a FAST 102 & LT's. LS2 owner's claim around 50+RWHP with a tune. There are a lot of posts on it too.

Depends on the brand of header consider American Racing if budget permits. Bad headers equal pour gains

Work with the shop that is going to do the tune because they will have to live with the results.

I'll agree with timd38. HP gains from headers are pretty uniform between manufacturers so whatever your installer is used to go with them. The CB exhaust will basically give you nothing more than sound regardless what you read or someone says. The FAST on a LS2 is def worth considering. I had one but removed it when the boost was turned up...wish I would have stayed with it.

We offer remote tuning via HP Tuners. The best part about our service is we can get you spot on in your area for your driving habits with a tune custom tailored to you. Not just something that works the best here or there.

I do agree with what the others said. No not worry about the maf. The devil is in the details. A custom cam will go a long way to getting you almost exactly what you want, and top it off with a true custom tune.

Our service even goes beyond the original tuning with options to help you along the way should you decide to add more go fast parts to your ensemble. Most cars modifications are done in stages, and we can be the guys backstage giving you the best outcome.

If you decide to toss that cherry bomb exhaust out for something else hit me up. I'm actually looking for one if the SLP LM isn't loud enough.

Thanks. Love my Cherry Bomb Exhaust. Don't see me getting anything different. Sorry.

The SLP Loudmouth is definitely loud enough. I had that on my car for about 1.5 years. Lots of crackles and pops when engine breaking, loud scream with WOT... a great experience if you are looking for a mean raspy sound.

Do not expect to keep your hearing if you do headers and a cam on top of the loudmouth. The car then becomes about as loud as a NASCAR sprint cup car. I'm glad I kept my stock NPP's because I threw them back on about 2 months after the cam and headers went on the car.

I'm 25, play with C4 for a living, love going to NASCAR races, go to the rifle range and hunt on the reg, but the SLP loudmouth was too much when combined with everything else.

With that said, I still have the SLP loudmouth billets and tips if you want them. Just send me a PM
