Default What is this?

I found this:

hanging out of one of the lightning holes near a mount bolt on the passenger side portion of the rear cross member. It says Niagara and FT-2210 around the flanged portion. I think it is just a shipping plug/cap, but I wanted to make sure.

This is a thread protector used on the assembly line. Looks like this one was dropped. Nothing at all to worry about.

Thanks,Eric. I knew that. I have a box of them in my toolbox at work. I was thinking it may need to be covering a quick disconnect used for servicing or maybe a very large zerk fitting.

ETA: No, It doesn't have threads. One sarcastic post deserves another.

Not sure what about my post you found sarcastic, i said it was a thread protector not that it was threaded. These are used to protect threads A/C fittings and such before they are installed.

I found nothing sarcastic about your post. I figured that was what it was anyway.

I quoted Eric Ray that gave me the hotlink to caps and plugs after I had already said I thought that it was a cap or plug.
