So I installed the LG pro 1/78 Headers on the car... was a bit of a pain in the garage but got it. Actually had to take the passenger side motor mount loose and jack the motor up a few inches to get it to slide in. Now I am having issues with the x-pipe. The x-pipe is a full 3 inch set-up, the cats slide onto the headers no problem but can't get the x-pipe to slide onto the cats on either side of the x pipe. It's like the I.D (inside diameter) of the pipes don't match up with the O.D. (outside diameter). Anyone else come across this issue? Any ideas on how I can widen the slotted pipe that slips over the other pipe... trying to avoid taking it in but might have too. Thanks guys
I had the same issue. Leave everything loose until teh job is 100% installed.
I used a hammer and an anvil and opened up the front X pipe openings just on the very forward edge. Then it all went together. Run a file around the od of the cat pipe and id of the X pipe to create a wedge affect to help it start. Spray WD 40 on it so it moves easy
Never had issues and I've had mine on and off 10+ times. Harbor freight has pipe expanders if you really need but I only found that needed if I tightened them way down. Get a 3" pipe expander from HF and just open the joints up slightly if you need.
Awesome... thanks for the reply guys.
I'll get it on somehow or another... Also did you guys run cats as well? LG shows the X pipe ran in the narrow valley under the tunnel plate and looks like they just kept the rear o2s plugged? Did you guys do the same
Ok...just wasn't sure... I'm running the cats because I have an A6 and I'm worried about drone with the 3 in NPP set-up... so just plug the rear o2s then?
Got the X pipe on with some force and wd-40.... was a two man job for sure. Drove the car open x piped with high flow cats. Loud as all hell. But fun. Thanks for the help guys. I Appreciate it

Let us know the results. Post some pictures! I put on shorties on my C5, but I have longtubes waiting to go on, but I'm getting that professionally done. I wouldn't know what to do if something went wrong.
