06 auto When i push the start button i get one loud click and nothing happens. Battery is good and every thing seems to work.Is there something in starter circuit that can open the circuit ?
How do you know battery is good? Did you have it load tested because your description sounds like weak battery. If its really good than check/clean connections at battery and starter solinoid.

Had battery check at battery store and cleaned battery connections. Is solenoid on the starter or in console?
I agree with evrose...put a dvm on the battery while someone attempts to crank it and see what the voltage reads.
I believe it's on the starter. the starter is not hard to remove. go ahead and jack the car up and inspect the wires and solenoid on the starter...you may find your issue.

If you could look down through the exhaust manifold vains on the passenger side you could see the starter/solenoid and the wiring running to it. (Not sure if you can with stock manifold).
Sometimes a quick easy way to tell. I've taken a wood dowel and wiggled the wires. Then if it fires right up you pretty much narrowed it down.
It's starting to become more common that the bakelite on the solenoid cracks around the main post. Like DSOMC6 says, wiggle the cable and see if you get a different result. I attribute the failure to either too much heat from the headers, or not enough slack in the positive cable, and maybe both.
A jumper battery will quickly rule out a lack of power, but usually when it's a weak battery, the click you hear will also be weak.
An auto electric shop can install a new solenoid for $30-40 if you remove the starter and carry it in the door. Dealers don't have them separate from the starter, so they'd charge around $400 or more to do the same repair.

A full rebuilt starter runs $100 or less these days (after core refund). I put heat shield tape all over my replacement starter after I had a cracked/melted plastic issue with my solenoid. Not sure if it will prevent another occurrence.
