I had read somewhere on the forum that upgrading the fogs to HID bulbs may fry fuses and pose an electrical issue. I'm just curious if anyone on here has some more info. Or those that have done the mod, any issues?

Just curious, does going to HID fogs really add a noticeable improvement in light output? I don't ever use the stock fog lights as there is really zero benefit in light output over the HID headlights (and besides which, fog lights are meant for driving in fog, not normal use).

Yes, very noticeable. Corvette Mods kit here, and it's a very close match to the factory low beams color wise. Adds a nice white light filling in from in front of the bumper out to just under the low beams' focal point. You can actually tell when the fog come on. It also throws more light side to side as well.
You're also very likely going to get flashed a lot from blinding oncoming drivers. The stock housings are NOT designed for HIDs and work very poorly with them. You're going to put more light on the road, but that's by virtue or throwing more light EVERYWHERE.
I have a set from Corvette Mods....the ballasts burned out in a month.
But they did replace them....only to burn out again in a month.
Didn't even bother contacting them again, and went back to the original stock lamps that came on the car.....not as "cool", but haven't burned out yet.
I bought mine from CorvetteMods over a year ago and have never had an issue. No body flashes me and the extra light is great. I live in the country so all the extra light I can get is a +. Most of these kits are made in the same place China and probably by the same people.
Your probably right. I went with a 4300K kit, which still is a slight blue but less noticable than the 6000K. The 6000K def looks diff from the headlights. Also remember the more blu you go, the less bright the light gets.... ie Ultraviolet.
