Default Engine noise

When I start my 2005 C6 w/LS2 in the morning I hear a flapping or ticking sound from under the hood. It doesn't sound like valves or tappets it sound more like flapping that is opening and closing with the speed of the engine. After it warms up it purrs like a wild tiger.

Any comments would be appreciated

Mine ticks too. I usually hear it around 2-3 grand rpm. It sounds like the valves, but a buddy is saying its the injectors.

I just put a new engine in the car and the new engine ticks like the old one.

Check your harmonic balancer for wobble.

Thank you for responding to my question. It is still annoying but at least I know I wont be replacing the engine any time soon. What happen to your engine that you needed to replace it?

Thanks for your quick response - Trying not to sound stupid but what and where is the harmonic balancer located?

On the front of the engine, main pulley (on crankshaft).
