Default rocker preload LS2

LS2 stock heads/rockers LPE 223/235 610 620 cam. When I set pre-load Im getting 5/8 of a turn on the rocker bolt which = .030 pre-load. to get to .075 do I add what I want in (more)pre-load directly to longer push rods? I am coming up with 7.450" to get close. Does that sound right?
Im assuming I can at least heat cycle the springs with the stock 7.4's @ .030 pre-load for now till I get some new/longer ones.
Thanks
Chris

.075 is about where you want to be I wouldn't use the amount of turn to be sure of that. The best way is to check with a pushrod length checker. To answer your question though, adding .050 to the pushrod would get you there assuming the starting point is correct. Just make sure you are checking with 22ft-lbs torque to the rockers.

I'm going to double check with my adj.pushrod but I wanted to be sure I wasn't going to over shoot with a 7.450" can I start it and get the initial heat cycle with .030 on the 7.4's?

Shouldn't be a problem. I was trying different preloads when I had my crammed car to try and quiet it down. I tried .050 to .100. Nothing changed. It may be a little noisy but just to get them pumped up won't be a problem. The lifters have quite a bit of travel. Besides, it better to be too loose then to tight and hang a valve open.

I just reread you initial post and if you are getting over half a turn, you may more than .030 anyway. Pushrod length checker is the sure way to set it up correctly.
