Default C6 z51 track day setup.

Hey everyone

I am new to the corvette world and have driven Mercedes Benz for the past several years. My 2012 c350 coupe lease was ending and I decided I wanted something track capable with a 6MT. So after a lot of research I decided the c6 z51 was the car for me. I found a 32k mile 3LT Z51 06 Bone stock from a 68 year old retired Jewish banker in south Florida. The perfect car. I put a new set of RE 11s and lowered on stock suspension and hit the track. Was a blast and I did not give the vette enough credit for its handling. So my question is, what do you trackers do to your cars first? Brakes are in like new condition, and I figure I'll replace and upgrade as those are needed. I still daily drive the car. I would like a smaller steering wheel and a harness at some point, but what mods will give me the most for my money??

vettworksonline.com has harness bars that fit and work great.

Brakes, Brakes, Brakes, the tires. I bought my Z51 new in 2006. Stock rotors cracked so I put Baer rotors on but when through pads at each track event.

I bought the DSvetes steering.

Have fun!

Pads, rotors tires at the same time and then a track alignment. Best if all these can happen together

Then start on the suspension. Bushings and sways first IMO. Don't bother with coil overs unless you're going to track it all the time.
