After reading this thread:

http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=260738

I bought a clone from Linda Hu in China at http://www.aliexpress.com/store/316255. The unit worked great except for the serial port... it would not communicate with my PC so updates could be downloaded into the unit for installing modules. I just sent it back to her for replacement.... fingers are crossed.

So would I be able to diagnose BCM,RCDLR, security deterrent, and program keys with this for 05 C6? If so do I need to have a subscription with GM?

I did a search and found the software, like it says above, do some research before you buy. I found several that could read OBD codes that stated that they were TechIIs.

While a lot of the "chinese junk" ones really are junk, there are some out there that will work just the same as a "real" one. The problem is finding someone that sells a decent one..

I spent a lot of time/money while in the BMW world on their programming equivalents, and eventually found a supplier in China that sold good quality setups for way less than the real BMW ones were going for. Never had an issue and it worked exactly the same as the real one.
