Tr 6060
The 6060 had a rated torque capacity of 700WTQ IIRC. It is an improvement by a pretty large margin, but the T56 isn't junk.
With the key-less design, the engagement is much smoother. The synchronizer teeth are much smaller, but there are many more of them. If you miss a gear, it's easier to chew up the teeth, but more difficult to miss a gear to cause the problem in the first place. Under hard acceleration, the fluid is pushed to the back of the case, starving the gears of cooling and lubrication. The TR6060's have pumps that pump to a cooler and the return is to the counter shaft, which is the critical part in need. In 2010, they moved the pickup further back so the pump wouldn't cavitate so easily and the return was moved to a more optimum place on the counter shaft.
The T56 is not junk, especially with the 30 spline shaft in it, but the TR6060 is far superior IMO.
I began with a stock 6060 from an 08Z in my C5 and beat the crap out of it for 2 years with over 1kRWHP and never had an issue with it.
If you're making 600RWHP, do you need a 6060? No, but I think you'll appreciate the smoother shifting and believe that it'll last through more abuse.

I agree.
