Huh? You bored and just feel like wrenching on someone else's car or are you trying to drum up some under the radar car repair business?

Because this has happened before where someone sends out a vague message and then someone comes over expecting the "help" to be free only to find out the person offering help is expecting to be paid. It then starts a petty forum war. In one situation on another forum where I saw this, it ended up with the parties facing off in court over the name calling, money, etc. All because the guy was trying to fly under the forum radar regarding business advertising.

Clarity in communication and expectations is pretty important.

Really? When I read it, I understood it as a guy who works on Vettes for cash and for cheap. Everyone knows nothing is for free. Seriously, the last thing I would expect is free on a post like this. If he was in my area I would've PMed him and asked what he charges for a header install.
It's like someone in a very touristy area taking a picture of you with their camera and giving you the picture. We all know better than to fall for that one.

First of all I apologize to those who think I am trying to in some way trick or extort money for a job. I assure all I am just trying to be a friend for those who don't have the know how or tools to do jobs on their vettes(i.e cai's, exhaust, etc) and really don't who to turn to except their dealer, who would over charge. I do not charge money for the help, for using my tools or lift. My help is FREE. If you would like to buy me lunch or give me a couple of dollars, that is up to you. I would never ask for money, period.
I meet people at the car shows who would like to do stuff to their vette but don't know how or have the place to do it, like if they in a apartment complex. There are some jobs I don't do, so if you pm me I will let you know if I can help. I don't work unless I have already done it myself on my vette. I am just a guy who likes being in my garage and helping people, I already make a great living. I don't need the money. I know most people aren't this kind, but more people should be.

The world does need more people like you. I'm in Houston but will keep you in mind. I am always helping people out as well and good gestures do go a long way. If there is something I can do to help someone fix their car or house, I do it. I have made lots of good friends along the way
