x pipe question
I have recently bought a new to me 2007 C6 base. I am having a lot of fun with the car while trying to learn how to drive it. Best car I have ever owned. I would like to have a better sound and am thinking about the Borla s type. My question is what does the x pipe get you that the axle back doesn't?
Is there increased hp, a better sound or both? Thanks.
I have tried a search but I can't find anything that tells me why I should replace the h pipe with an aftermarket x pipe.

I guess I wasn't very clear. I will not be getting long tube headers. I see that most of the aftermarket exhaust systems come as catback or axel back. The Borla s-type come as axle back or you can also get them with an xpipe. Is there an advantage of getting the xpipe also or it just a waste of $350.
Does the xpipe with the axle back add more power than the axle back with just the stock hpipe?

From what I understand some of the axel backs (specifically corsa sports) which I have tend to "burble" or "pop" on deceleration because of the increased flow after the X pipe. Adding an X pipe will better the flow and prevent this however won't add much more HP. IMO I like the burble and pop so would rather save the $400+ dollars. Just my 2 pennies ;-)

Here is a sound comparison of my 2005 corvette. Factory h-pipe vs B&B resonated x-pipe. Plus B&B Bullets
Best sounding axle back but prepare yourself for the interstate droonnnneeee.h-pipe, sounds more like a muscle car
x-pipe, sounds more like a tuned race car
hp, in seat, maybe a slight increase. On paper, I'm sure its a increase.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who changed the xpipe like that lol. I have a 2010 gs with the npp exhaust. I added the borla xpipe and didn't notice much change in the exhaust note but did notice the hp/tq change. Overall happy with the change. I imagine it would make a bigger difference with the factory system though.
