So, I'm new to the Corvette lifestyle and had the infamous chirp immediately after buying my 07 C6. Research led to me to the Harmonic Balancer, which definitely needed to be replaced. I swapped it out as well as both belts. The chirping stopped for about three days and it now back louder and more annoying than before. Does anyone have an idea of what the new problem would be? It gets louder with acceleration and eventually goes away once everything is warmed up. I'm too embarrassed to drive the car to work like this, it commands so much attention but the chirping destroys it. I have been driving a purple beat up Civic instead… and I hate it. Help!!
1st Question: Why are you accelerating before car is warmed up ? 2nd Question: What happens if you let car idle until warmed up ?
Well it takes 45-60 minutes of the car idling before the chirp will go away and I feel that it is a little absurd to start the car an hour before I want to go anywhere. If I hop in and start the car and let it run for 10 minutes or so before I leave, it takes about 20 minutes of driving before the chirp goes away.
The bolt may not be torqued enough and causing the hb to chirp. Did you use a flywheel locking tool, follow the correct torque procedure and use a new bolt?

I had same problem. Changed idler pulley & noise stopped. 2 months later, chirping again. But this time, after idling 5/10 minutes it stops. I was trying to use my problem to help you solve yours. good luck
Sounds like a bearing going out. Take off the belt and start spinning pulleys. You should be able to feel or hear when you find the bad one.
I appreciate the help guys, I replaced the tensioner. Still have the chirping but doesn't seem to take too long to go away. Still trouble shooting. I'll do what MARSC6 says and see what I can figure out… I'm still pretty amateur.
